既来之,则安之;
活在当下,
活得精彩,
过去的就随它过去...

Quality Time on Das Boot

Owing to the requirement of the German language course, I thereby made my step for the movie entitled "Das Boot". The fact is, I love watching movies, they are my favourite activity and I regarded it as a part of myself. I never closed my eyelids or attempted to nor feeling sleepy in the middle of a movie. Nevertheless, "Das Boot" had opened a whole new page and broke a new record in my very own book of history. For the first time, I feel sleepy. Mainly due to boring conversations inside the submarine and less actions and climax.

Boring as it was, I couldn't say it did not interest me entirely. At some points, I did enjoy watching war-film. The movie 99% focused on a submarine U--(forgot what code)back in the world-war-II with 50 members in it. My first thought - submarine should be huge. My thought was wrong for the submarine's interior was so narrow only a person could pass by. Second, those soldiers were meant to be tightly bounded to discipline as many others normal people would share this same thought with me. Singing, dancing, mocking, playing were their ways to kill time instead. But not until problems arised. They were serious and stern with those darkened faces of theirs. Play hard, work hard.

Forgot to mention the main factor contributing to my sleepy condition. The film itself took me 5 hours sitting motionless inside the chill room keeping my pupils dilated long enough to an exhausted state. Of course, there was a short break in between. But still, it was really BORING to watch the same film for 5 hours with less than 5% of climax and actions.

Somehow, I was impressed by how they could possibly make seriously damaged parts back to functionality in such an adverse condition. The psychological pressure itself could kill a person by bursting his head off. They worked in a team and as a whole, taking instructions with no single question asked. They were excellence in professionalism - SOLDIER.

Though, I didn't like the ending. By the time they made their way back to their homeland, so close to their family; and there they got attacked and bombed. Countless were dead. That's how it ended. Must had taken decades of bad luck to have this kind of situation I thought.

These were what crossed my mind after 5 hours quality time in the theater.
