Unpredictable early sem break

In the middle of my lecture, rumours arised in my class, and everybody was discussing the same topic--UPM is under quarantine for a week effective from now on.

I was shocked at the moment I got the news, and I thought most probably it was simply a joke from my friends. We were confirmed until our lecturer declared the rumours as a fact. Soon, my class was fulled of ringing tones and everybody is busy talking on the phone. Everybody is busy planning their next step to be taken, journey to home. Me on the other hand, straight away called my sister to acknowledge her the news as well as requesting her to fetch me home.

The class had dismissed straight afterward. Back to my hostels, I saw the staffs were busy in cleaning and disinfecting task, fully covered with gauze mask. Meanwhile, the in charged personnel of our hostel's authority were giving out gauze masks and making announcement. Looking at the memo, our sem break will be shifted two weeks earlier. Is that so serious??? I asked myself.

Ignoring my unanswered question, grabbing a piece of gauze mask and I quickly went up to my room and got my stuffs packed without further delayed. Half an hour later, my sister already here to picked me up. I was back to home at 5pm after giving my course mates a short ride to LRT station.

I was told by my friends that Puduraya station including KTM station was so crowded with multitudes. Well, I feel so fortunate to have studied in local (not out of state). Perhaps this was the right time for a short break owing to the shortage of water supply in my hostel for days till a date that yet cant be confirmed. Before that, all of us had been struggled so badly for the reports and assignments this few weeks. All the work, assignments and report can now be delayed for a moment or two. At instant, this is what makes me feel most relief for!

The time has arrived

This morning after finishing the last homemade breakfast, I began to pack my messy stuffs. I was not going for a vacation definitely. Worse, I was heading towards my Uni hostel. Well, inhaling some new fresh air, I thereafter get my mood ready back to my study.

There were tons of stuff to be packed! It always turn to be like this--last minute rushing, like I always did. When thinking deeply, I haven't bought my Uni breakfast--biscuits and bread. Just before going back to my hostel, I dropped by tesco ampang for a little shopping moment that I still can enjoy.

Once I made a step down from my car, I walked in solely bewilderment wondering any changes to my hostel room as well as my roommate. I did wished for the same room and same roommate all the time. When I got my finger pointed to a list looking for my name, it leaded to C440. Exactly the same room!!!! Thanks god! I whispered in my heart.

Soon after I filled up the forms, I quickly unloaded my car and shifted all my stuffs with the helping hand from my sister and mum. Then, it took me few hours to unpack everything and clean the dusty room.

To my greater surprise, one of my course mates has moved into the room just opposite of mine.

Counting down the last day of my sem break..... Gambateh for a new chapter of Uni life!

Good Bye my little one...

My heart sank when I first saw the cold body of the little puppy laid frozen under a tree. I couldn't believe what I had seen in that early morning. It was the first thing I wished not to see once I opened my eyes. Yesterday, I still saw it running here and there around my house and welcoming me back with a smiley face. Now, everything had just vanished following its death.

Weeks ago, I had been bathing and playing with it and it did tailed me wherever I went. It would wag its tail whenever it saw me. What a cute little one! It also had been my Bobby good companion all the time. Now all that had just turned into my fond memories.

Before that, he always lurking around the neighborhood and loved by everyone. The aunt opposite my house always gave him some foods to eat too. Sigh..... now I starting to miss it already. Pictures of him keep flashing back like some kind of video clips in my mind.

And yet I have to accept the truth that I have lost it. This had caused me depressed for few days. Nevertheless, life have to go on as usual. What I can do now is appreciating everything around me especially my lovely Bobby that still alive.(touch wood...)

Little one..... I will never forget those memorable moments you have brought into my life.

Happy 21st Birthday!

Haha! Cant believe I have been lived in this world for 21 years. I have entered another stage of life becoming an adult. Hmm.. Somes may say I have not mentally grown up as others' saying that I am still childish. Am I??? Well, it's up to you. I dont really mind about that as long as I have been lived happily all these days. 'Happy go lucky'--My slogan! haha..

I celebrated my birthday together with Agnes earlier last week with all my fellow friends in form 6. Half of us had turned up in this shabu-shabu gathering. We enjoy our steamboat dinner here and some of us create some new recipes of their owns which better not to comment on the tastes. haha, we really have fun though. This time, yoon ming acted as the photographer and treasurer. Busy taking pictures at every single moment and collects money from us at the end of the dinner. To my surprise, he loomed out with a birthday cake before we left while I thought he went to the toilet according to Melia's saying earlier without any doubt. Again, candles blowing and photography sessions took over next. My dear classmates, really feel grateful and glad to have known you all. Especially Melia--for every single things that you have done for us so far.(from organizing, gathering, collecting ideas, confirming our attendance... and many many more).

Which hand is mine and which hand is Agnes???

My second celebration was with my family members in which we went out for dinner and candles blowing afterwads before 12am. Kin yang--sorry for making you waited so long outside and thanks for your present. Really surprise to have seen you that night. I never imagined you would be there!
The cake that takes days to be finished....

The third celebration was with my relatives and my dearest godmother on Sunday. Thay came to my house in the afternoon and we non-stop chit chating until the time we had our steamboat dinner at night. The noise that arised from my house was comparable to the night market. It's normal thing to happen as it has been quite a long while we dont meet each other.

To my parents--no words that I can say to express my appreciation for the cares you have poured on me. I cant be as good as what I am now without you.
Happy Fathers' Day DAD!!!

The Kids

Are kids little devils created by god? Sometimes, we do think that kids are just like the little angels as they always look cute to adults like us. However, it may soon change your perceptions toward them when they evolve from little angels into little devils whenever they do something that annoy you or disobey you.

Hmmm.. I may get mad to them at first, but when I think deeply, they are just what we are before. What they did is similar to what we did in our pasts. Forgivable, forgivable.... I told myself.

It tested my patient and EQ when deal with kids. You cant be too harsh nor too soft and it takes time to really understand what really beneath their minds.

I saw my childhood when I look into them. They remind me of my childish acts and those games that I used to play during my childhood. Haha.. Kind of missing those enjoyable and memorable moments in the past.

Nurturing them is never an easy job to do. It is always a work of heart.

A Special Day with a Special Friend

This Saturday was a special day for me. I never imagine I got the chance to meet a very special friend of mine tonight. That is because today only I got the news that he is coming to my place for a choir concert tonight. Secondly, I have my tennis class from 2pm to 9pm and I thought I am not going to make it on time for sure and miss it!

The funniest thing is I don't even know there is a choir concert held in my Uni until an outsider told me! Shame on me...

Haha.. However, straight after my class dismiss and I am told that the concert is still on and I hesitate for a moment whether I should drop by there and meet him. Hmm... the concert is held at ecology faculty and I asked my friend the way to get there. Since the road is quite dark at night and thank to my friends that willing to accompany me to get to the bus stop in front of the faculty. Really appreciate their favors or else I have to walk to there alone.

Now, the problem is I don't really know the exact place of the concert being held and I wonder which area in the faculty. So, that means I still need to figure out the exact place once I reach there. Never mind (I think I am going to make it anyway). Of course, with some clues from my friend, I finally found that place after 20 minutes walk from the tennis court to there.

When I look into the hall, I saw all the audience are wearing formal and casual attire. That time I am wearing sport attire and I wonder whether I should really enter the hall. (of course not through the main entrance) and I am looking for another alternative entrance that won't distract audience attention. Hence, I called my friend once I get there and thank god he come out and lead me in through the back stairs. Otherwise, I am sure I won't dare to step inside at all.

The concert almost come to the end when I get into the hall. However, I still got the chance to listen to the last 3 songs. The concert really not bad overall.

Well, I feel sorry for him for what happens afterward. I have caused him some trouble in which he need to break his promise to his friends. That time I doubted whether I have make a mistake by meeting him there. I hope his friends won't blame him for that.

Then, both of us went to a mamak stall for a drink. It is approaching 10.40pm by the time we get there. Haha, we have a small 'pillow talk' there cause we have not met for quite a long time.

At 12am something, I surprise my family by standing in front of my house and call my sister to open the door for me. (I never tell them I m going back tonight) My sister taught I was kidding with her at first and she says that she won't pick up the call at the time like this if she did not recognize the ring tone of my call. I feel so lucky that she did pick up my call.

What had happened tonight seem a little bit of adventurous to me as all these were not in my plan at the very beginning. All things just happen and I never expect I can meet him. Anyway, I feel grateful and really thank him for bringing me a special day.

*sorry for bringing you so much troubles and I will remember it in heart*

Recycle

Today is my first time joining a charity activity organized by a Buddhist association. I am going to give a helping hand to collect the material for recycle purpose from the neighborhood. There are 25 of us taking part in this meaningful activity today. We start our journey early in the morning and we are divided into groups of 5. Then we are briefed for a while concerning the work and activity today. Our destination will be at old flat which located nearby our campus--Serdang area.

Here, it is a housing area which consists of few blocks of shop lots and apartments. As soon as we reached there, I followed my group leader together with my team members to visit the house one by one in order to collect material that can be recycled from the neighborhood. We knock the door one by one to ask if they have anything for recycle. Most of them are very sincere and caring where they get all the things well-packed for us. After we gather all the thing at the corner of the staircase, we line up along the staircase and pass the thing one by one until it reach the groundfloor. Since we do it as a team, we get that job done in a few minutes! Ha! Cant imagine that we could finish that job that fast. Within 2 hour, we manage to collect all the recycle materials from the neighborhood.

I really feel grateful for their concerns and cooperation in which they have packed all the materials for us that make the work more easy for us to collect it from them. This experiance personally make me feel that there are so many people that still concern for our environment and aware about global warming. Although this activity overall is tiring and exhausting, we did enjoy it in such a way that we believe we have done something that make this earth beautiful especially this is a good deed that belongs to everyone of us.

Everyone of us can do a lots to help reduce global warming. First, we need to conserve electric power, water and do switch off the light or power whenever it is not in used. Secondly, recycle the materials such as plastic, tins, bottles, clothes and etc and most importantly reduce the usage of polisterene. Do think twice before u throw anything to the dustbin as it may be recycled. These are just simple acts that everyone of us can do daily.

Cameron=Agriculture?

This isn't a vacation for me but more to a 'exploring' trip as our lecturer wants us to learn something from the visits and voice out our opinions about what we have discovered during the visit. Our lecturer has successfully stressed us up as he is going to create a question in our test 1 from this trip. However, we are all enjoying the trip and we have fun while learning as well.
We gather at our faculty in the evening of Friday because the bus is going to depart at 6pm. From the time we depart, I already can guess that we will reach our destination not sooner than midnight. We have taken a short break at Sg. Buloh highway station and that is the place where we have our dinner. My dinner-Burger King! After that 1 hour break, the buses move again at 8pm. our bus passes through Simpang Pulai to reach Cameron. It quite surprise me when I get to know that we are going to Cameron at night because it is quite dangerous for a bus to go up the hill where there will be no light along the road to Cameron. However, thanks to the professional driver, we get to Cameron safely at 12am.
Once we get down from the bus, we can feel the freezing cold wind and we are all shocked when we see our 'Hotel'. More precisely, we are all staying in kampung orang asli Sungai Ruil. It is located inside the Dahlia Villa. Our 'Hotel' is 100% made from bamboo and wood. It looks like a rumah panjang. There is a living room with 3 rooms inside. There are 10 double deckers in 1 of the rooms and it costs us rm15 per nigth per person. We all feel that we have paid more for that quality of 'Hotel' we are staying. At the first night, for sure we are not going to anywhere but have a nice sleep. However, it was too cold for me to fall asleep as it was oli 12Celcius that night.
We woke up at 7am and we have our nasi lemak breakfast prepared by them at 7.30am. Our dinning place is really orang asli style. Around 8.30am, we take a visit to the Sungei Palas Boh tea plantation. The road to there is really very narrow and small and we are forced to split into 2 groups and take turn to get there with a smaller bus. Once we step in the tea plantation, we are welcomed by the person in charge of the factory which is also the manager, Mr. Pathi. He gives us a short briefing in an introduction about Boh tea before we make our first move into the factory. Then, he leads us the way to the factory and he starts to explain the process of making tea. The tea leaves that is harvested will undergo the withering process in which the moisture of the tea leaves will be reduced to around 70%. It is done by steaming the tea leaves with warm air. Next, the tea leaves will be sent to the rolling machines so that the tea leaves will be rolled to give out fragnance, aroma of the tea and the fermentation process starts here as well. Afterwards, the tea leaves will undergo further compact rolling in which the tea leaves are twist and rolled into a smaller leaves. The colour of the leaves turn from green to brown as well. Then, the tea leaves will be dried to stop the fermentation. In this process, rubber wood is used to generate the heat. According to Mr. Pathi, rubber wood is used because it give out less smoke and reduce air pollution, it can burns longer while giving constant heat and it is easily obtained in Malaysia. After drying process, the tea leaves will be sorted and the fiber and stalk of the tea leaves will be extracted as well. Here is some tips for those who likes to drink tea:
Chinese tea and green tea should be drank after heavy meal. Chinese tea contains preservative, it is advisable to rinsed the tea leaves with hot water or throw away the first pot and consume the second. Chinese tea is half-fermented so it will help in digestion and cleaning your intestine. Green tea is non-fermented, it helps in digestion. The western tea is fully fermented hence it is light and suitable to drink even before meal.
Tea bag is the lousiest tea! The bigger the tea leaves, the better is the quality of tea. And most importantly, tea DOES NOT CONTAIN CAFFEIN! Do not consume tea when it turn cold as it will give the reverse effect.
After the visit, we proceed to the vegetables farm in which we can see the whole cleaning process of the tomatoes. The farm owner told us that there are various type of vegetables planted here which include strawberry, tomato, melon, grape and etc. We have tasted the grape although it taste a bit savour and we got the chance to harvest the melon ourselves too! (with the permition of the owner) Then, we have our lunch at Tanah Rata.
Next, we continue our journey to the flower farm. We have been explained about the hydroponic plant with the add of the nutrient to the water and how long it takes for the strawberry to grow and its maximum production by the assistant there. We also asked about the use of light bulb at night and she told us that certain flower has longer photoperiod and thus need more sunlight compare to others. Hence, they use light bulb at night to replace sunlight so that the flower will gloom.
Since its still early, we grab the chance to go to the night market at Brinchang. I manage to buy some delicacies there. My friends as well busy shopping and bought a lot of flower and cactus as well as some corns. (its so cheap!)
At night, we have to go back to our lodge to have our dinner...
The next morning, we depart at 9am and pay our first visit to the MARDI at Tanah Rata. The person in charge there lead us the way to the farm and explain sincerely to us every single thing about the researh done by them.
Last but not least, we visit the farmer association located at the main road of Brinchang. Again the manager welcomes us and start to give a short briefing about the plantations in Cameron and their role in improving the yield of crops. It takes around 45 minutes as we are in rush of time. We have our lunch immediately after the visit and get back to our bus. We do our last shopping at the morning market where the bus stop by the road. Finally, we are going Back! Our group members have started to discuss the question should be asked in out test 1 as requested by our lecturer. We have a brainstorming and finally we come to a conclusion.
It was a rather good experiance for me as I get the chance to learn so much thing during the trip. Well, thank to our lecturer for bringing us up there. In conclusion, the main objective for this trip is achieved!

Merentas kampus!

Guess what? Today is Sunday and all the first year students are required to participate in the 5km Marathon. When I look at all the participants. I can see all of us are first year. I cant spot any other senior taking part except the organizers. Of course, who is willing to wake up 6am in the morning of Sunday? well, we gather at the foyer at 6.45am. Then the shutter bus takes us to the sport complex which will be our starting point. The other 'kolej' students are involved as well. The marathon start at 8.30am after briefing and some warm up exercises (as usual). The guys start at first followed by the girls. My friends and I already decided to walk instead of run (except that we run a bit at the beginning). It seems like a long journey for me since I have never do this kind of thing since form 6. It takes me around 45 minutes to reach the end point. Nevertheless, on the way we pass through plantation area (banana, bamboo, palm oil and etc) and golf area as well which makes me feel like climbing with all the up and down hills. At least, i have discovered the new places in upm which i dont know before. Thank god nothing bad happen during the event go on (no people faint as I can see), but we all are so thirsty after the marathon. Finally, the first place is taken by the KOSAS and my kolej also stand the place of 5 among all 14 kolej. Not bad, huh? After the prize giving, we go back to our own hostel by bus.
*if not because of the merits and those absents will be giving demerits, I wont rush back to my hostel at the night of Saturday also.
